
2) Coordinating/Adjusting Lesson
Designing interesting and exciting lessons for middle school students can be challenging, especially when it’s on a topic like the Civil War. Pictured above is an entire unit plan laid out by date and standard. When students are learning about the Civil War, I find it important for students to collaborate with peers and share their opinions when it comes to not only war tactics, but also the political aspects of the war. So throughout the unit there are opportunities for students to share their opinions and feelings regarding the differences and atrocities of the different sides during the war.
