5) Reinforcing Productive/Positive Student Behavior
Throughout the year, my placement school Ovid-Elsie took part in multiple different positive student behavior programs. After Spring Break, students were met with the Blue Ticket Blitz! This program reinforces positive behavior by keeping track of acceptable student behaviors by tallying a sheet of paper. Throughout the hour, the instructor keeps track of student behavior that they find productive/positive and at the end of the hour, students are given the same number of “blue tickets” that they have tallies. These blue tickets can be used for prize drawings, or even getting to lunch early. This happened multiple times throughout the year and was a great change of pace for students trying to earn blue tickets.
